The Project
The project includes the design construction operation and maintenance of the plant with first production in 2028. Works include marine works and tunnels seawater intake system a seawater reverse osmosis desalination plant groundwater system drinking water storage and pump system supported by civil electrical and bulk earthworks.

The Project Engineer Electrical supports the Area Manager in planning and executing electrical works on the Alkimos Desalination project. They provide technical and HSEQS (Health Safety Environmental Quality & Sustainability) support to Supervisors and assist with administrative tasks logistics and procurement as needed.

Key accountabilities for the position

  • Manage full project engineering responsibilities including safety documentation procurement budgeting client liaison and contract administration.
  • Oversee contract activities to ensure compliance with safety environmental and quality standards.
  • Ensure all permits approvals and work plans are in place for daily operations.
  • Support the Electrical Lead Engineer in delivering project milestones on time within budget and to quality standards.
  • Prepare technical documentation such as work procedures ITPs SWMS and site access plans.
  • Assist with site inductions for personnel and equipment.
  • Track material traceability costs productivity and maintain accurate records.
  • Contribute to planning audits quality management and coordination with the project delivery team.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of project engineering principles including budgeting procurement QA and contract administration.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety environmental and quality standards with the ability to ensure compliance on-site.
  • Proficiency in preparing technical documentation such as SWMS ITPs and construction procedures.
  • Effective planning and coordination skills to support project execution and timely handover.
  • Experience with permit management and ensuring work aligns with approvals and specifications.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for liaising with clients supervisors and project teams.
  • Ability to track costs manage productivity metrics and maintain accurate records.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems internal audits and continuous improvement practices.
