Job Summary

Role

STI/DFGP is looking for a Young Associate to support the collection processing analysis and presentation of data and indicators to inform evidence-based policy-making and support the Divisions strategic goals in the areas of data governance data flows and privacy. The selected person will work under the supervision of a Senior Policy Analyst/Economist under the responsibility of the Head of the DFGP Division.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide new insights evidence and quantitative analysis for better data governance policies in the digital age.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. policy research IT) on data-driven projects.
  • Contribute to the development of metrics and indicators to reinforce the DFGPs capacities in the measurement of data and data flows.
  • Conduct statistical analysis to identify trends and correlations in the areas of data governance data flows and privacy.
  • Clean structure and analyse large datasets using appropriate tools and techniques while ensuring compliance with the OECDs data collection protection and ethical standards.
  • Support the development of dashboards data visualizations and reports to communicate insights clearly to country delegates and external stakeholders.

Qualifications :

Ideal Candidate Profile

Academic Background

  • Undergraduate degree in data science statistics computer science economics mathematics engineering or a related discipline (graduation date between 1 January 2025 and 1 September 2026). Applications from candidates who already hold or are enrolled in a Masters PhD or equivalent degree will not be considered.
  • Course work in statistics econometrics machine learning programming for data analysis or applied mathematics is desirable. Exposure to data governance privacy digital economy or public policy topics would be an asset.

Tools

  • Knowledge of software tools such as SQL Excel R or Python statistical programming and Git/GitHub.

Skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to engage and consult stakeholders from different backgrounds.
  • Ability to plan and organise work effectively.
  • Willingness to learn new methods tools and concepts in the field of data governance and privacy.

Languages

  • Fluency in one of the two OECD official languages (English and French) and a knowledge of or willingness to learn the other.
