Job Summary

The Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine in partnership with Seattle Childrens Hospital is seeking candidates for a full-time position at the level of Assistant Associate or Full Professor on the Clinical Practice Track. Specific rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as generally described in UWs Faculty Code Section 24-34. Anticipated start date is Summer 2026.

In addition to clinical work teaching scholarship and service are integral to all Clinical Practice positions. The initial appointment period will be three years at a minimum with eligibility for renewal thereafter. Faculty on the clinical practice track hold multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Clinical Practice track appointments are not eligible for tenure.

The base salary range for this position will be: Assistant Professor range: $13641 - $20461 per month ($163692- $245532 annually) Associate Professor range: $16487 - $24730 per month ($197844 - $296760 annually) Professor range: $19820 - $29729 per month ($237840 - $356748 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Childrens University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by Childrens University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.

Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through Childrens University Medical Group practice plan. Additional administrative responsibilities may be offered to a specific candidate with appropriate experience and qualifications which may result in an administrative supplement (ADS).

The successful candidate will lead the development of a new Comprehensive Asthma Program at Seattle Childrens Hospital. Positive factors for consideration include but are not limited to candidates with leadership skills and/or clinical expertise in asthma. The faculty member will work collaboratively to build an inpatient outpatient and community-based program that integrates clinical care with advocacy and research. There is opportunity for both original research and research partnerships within the Center for Respiratory Biology and Therapeutics in the Seattle Childrens Research Institute for the candidate if desired. Mentorship resources will be provided per the Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine and the UW Department of Pediatrics. Additionally the Asthma Program will collaborate with the Odessa Brown Childrens Clinic to deliver asthma care to the community. The candidate will be expected to actively participate in Divisional and Departmental activities. The candidate will interact with medical students residents and pulmonary fellows in training.

Rank is commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position is a full-time appointment.

The successful candidate must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) medical licensure in the state of Washington and Board Eligibility or Certification in Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine (or foreign equivalent) and have completed a US accredited pediatric pulmonary medicine fellowship by the start date of employment.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
