Job Summary
In your capacity as the Assistant Director of Safety & Security at our Westgate Villas Resort you will play a central role in guiding the efforts of our dedicated team including Safety & Security Officers Supervisors Managers and Loss Prevention Specialists. Your pivotal position is instrumental in upholding the highest safety and security standards ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all guests and staff members alike.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on responsibility brings sound judgment under pressure and is passionate about building a culture of safety across one of Westgates flagship resorts.
Youll demonstrate Westgates core values of Passion Integrity and Work Ethic in every interaction with guests and team members.
What Youll Do as a Assistant Director of Security & Safety Assistant Director:
- Conduct investigations into policy violations and state laws as directed by the Director of Security
- Supervise incident investigations and assist in HR inquiries
- Coordinate claims and workers compensation investigations with Risk Management
- Report incidents coordinate with law enforcement and review reports
- Prepare activity reports and present security orientation for new hires
- Interact with guests and team members and implement inventory controls
- Manage safety programs and assist with access control systems
- Monitor scheduling prepare reports and travel when needed
- Authorize supply orders and maintain professional memberships
- Attend meetings and assist in disaster planning and procedures
- Act as a liaison for criminal prosecutions and conduct surveys
- Lead Safety Committee meetings and train the Incident Response Team
- Assume the role of Director of Security as needed and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications :

What Youll Bring:
- Demonstrated leadership experience in hospitality with a focus on security
- Minimum 3 years in a management role or bachelors degree
- Minimum 3 years experience in Hotel Security Management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Outlook
- Flexible schedule including nights weekends and holidays
- Ability to motivate security teams
- Completion of background check and drug test
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
Licenses & Certifications
- Florida Class D Security License (required)
- CPR AED and First Aid certification (required)
- American Red Cross certification (preferred)
- Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record
- Certification and experience as a public safety official preferred
Physical & Availability Requirements
- Must be able to stand walk climb and lift up to 25 lbs frequently (50 lbs occasionally).
- Must be able to work weekends holidays and varied shifts as needed.
- On-call 24/7 for emergencies and critical incidents.
