Day to day as a Daytime Cleaner
As a Full-Time Daytime Cleaner at the Y in Sylvania you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean and inviting environment for our community. Your day will be dynamic filled with a variety of tasks outlined in our daily schedule including wet and dust mopping dusting trash removal and even seasonal activities like snow removal. Youll operate both motorized and non-motorized equipment ensuring everything runs smoothly. Your responsibility extends beyond cleaning; you will secure the building during your shift and report any incidents or hazards to your supervisor. Additionally youll help prepare for events by setting up furniture and keeping supplies like soap and paper towels stocked.
This position allows you to contribute to the YMCAs mission while working in a fun energetic environment!
Would you be a great Daytime Cleaner
To thrive as a Full-Time Daytime Cleaner at the Y certain skills and experiences will set you up for success. Ideally you should have at least six months of related experience to navigate the variety of tasks with confidence. Youll need the ability to read and interpret instructions procedures manuals and other documents to execute your duties effectively.
Being detail-oriented is crucial as youll be responsible for reporting and recording maintenance requests ensuring the facility is always in top shape. A solid understanding of cleaning methods and equipment will help you work efficiently while a basic knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals is essential for their safe and effective use. Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Six months or more of related experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions procedures manuals and other documents.
- Ability to report and record maintenance requests.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
- Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment.
- Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe efficient use.
