We are seeking an experienced Automotive Sales Manager to help lead our sales department elevate team performance and ensure we continue to be the dealership of choice in Long Beach.
Position Overview
The Sales Manager is responsible for leading the sales team managing daily operations and achieving volume gross and CSI objectives. This role requires a proven automotive leader with strong California retail experience and the ability to drive consistent process-focused execution.
Key Responsibilities
Lead coach and develop a high-performing sales team
Manage daily sales operations sales processes T/O protocol and deal flow
Partner with the finance team to ensure clean CIT accurate paperwork and compliant deal structure
Monitor and drive essential KPIs: closing ratio PVR VGP turn rate trade win % OEM sales objectives and CSI
Maintain inventory standards: aging mix merchandising and dealership presentation
Enforce proper CRM usage (VinSolutions) and ensure follow-up and accountability
Conduct daily one-on-ones structured training sessions and weekly team meetings
Ensure full compliance with California DMV FTC and dealer regulatory requirements
Support recruitment hiring onboarding and continuous training of sales personnel
Collaborate with marketing and digital teams to optimize lead performance and conversion
Qualifications
3 years automotive sales management experience required (Sales Manager GSM or Desk Manager)
Strong understanding of California automotive retail regulations
Proven track record of achieving volume gross and CSI goals
Excellent leadership coaching and communication skills
Proficient with CRM systems (VinSolutions preferred) and digital retailing platforms
Strong ability to interpret KPIs financials and performance data
High integrity and commitment to providing an exceptional customer experience
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
