Hemphill County Hospital District is seeking a dedicated and energeticOccupational Therapist (OT)to join our Rehabilitation & Therapy Services team. This full-time role offers the opportunity to work across outpatient inpatient home health assisted living and senior living settings.

What Youll Do:

  • Patient Evaluation & Treatment:Assess patients and develop individualized treatment plans to improve function mobility and independence.
  • Therapeutic Interventions:Provide therapy using adaptive equipment splinting sensor-motor integration and more.
  • Supervision:Oversee certified occupational therapy assistants therapy aides and students.
  • Documentation:Maintain accurate and timely patient records in electronic health systems.
  • Collaboration:Work closely with physicians nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Educate patients and families on home programs adaptive techniques and injury prevention.
  • Participate in home assessments and patient support groups.
  • Design and fabricate splints and adaptive equipment.
  • Provide therapy for neurological integration and traumatic brain injury recovery.
  • Administer prevocational programs to support return-to-work goals.

What Were Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Current Texas OT license
  • Registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association
  • BLS certification (can be obtained upon hire)

Preferred:

  • Masters or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy
  • One year of experience as a licensed OT (new grads encouraged to apply!)

  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing over 50 pounds.

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

Minimum

High School Diploma

Bachelors degree in occupational therapy required.

Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association required.

Preferred

Masters or Doctorate degree in occupational therapy.

Work Experience

Minimum

Preferred

One year of OT work experience as a licensed Registered Occupational Therapy preferred

Licenses & Certifications

Minimum

Maintain BLS certification as a condition of employment.

Maintain Registered Occupational Therapy (OT) license as a condition of employment.
