We are seeking an experienced Remote Educator to join our Northern Territory Remote Locum Program (NTRLP). The role supports healthcare professionals undertaking short-term placements in remote Aboriginal communities across the Northern Territory playing a vital part in preparing and mentoring clinicians to deliver high-quality culturally safe healthcare in unique and challenging environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored education and training (virtual or in-person) for clinicians transitioning to remote practice.
- Provide mentorship clinical supervision and ongoing support to new-to-remote healthcare professionals.
- Conduct clinical assessments and offer constructive feedback to ensure safe quality care delivery.
- Promote cultural safety and best practice principles in clinical education.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Manager and Workforce Team to ensure effective deployment and support of health professionals.
- Act as a clinical resource and provide guidance in managing complex or acute health situations.
About You
Essential:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with current unrestricted AHPRA registration.
- Bachelors degree in Nursing Medicine or related healthcare discipline.
- Strong understanding of Remote Area Nurse practice and Primary Health Care delivery.
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic program environment.
Desirable:
- Masters degree in Education Public Health or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years clinical experience including 2 years in education or training roles.
- Experience working in remote or Indigenous community healthcare settings.
