Job Summary
A large well-established secondary school in Watford is seeking a committed and highly organised Science Technician to join their successful Science Faculty for an immediate start. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical scientific work thrives in a busy environment and values supporting students understanding of hands-on learning. The role plays a crucial part in the smooth daily operation of the department and is perfect for a candidate who wants to work in an educational setting while contributing meaningfully to teaching and learning.
The successful applicant will work across Biology Chemistry and Physics supporting practical lessons demonstrations and equipment preparation for KS3KS5. You will be responsible for ensuring that apparatus chemicals and teaching resources are prepared promptly and safely ahead of lessons following strict departmental and COSHH safety regulations. A key element of the role is maintaining accurate stock levels assisting with ordering supplies managing safe chemical storage and ensuring that laboratories remain clean safe and fully functional at all times.

You will ideally have some background in science whether laboratory experience A-Level science a degree or prior technician work though the school is prepared to provide training for someone with the right attitude and willingness to learn. Strong communication skills attention to detail and a positive proactive mindset are essential.
