Job Summary

Overview:

The L3 Solution Consultant serves as a senior functional and technical expert within Extropys Professional Services organization providing strategic guidance solution design leadership and advanced problem resolution across client pods.

Building upon the foundation of the L2 role the L3 Consultant operates as the final escalation point for complex issues leads configuration design drives process optimization initiatives and ensures adherence to Extropys delivery and governance standards.

This role acts as a bridge between solution architecture and delivery execution ensuring that solutions are scalable efficient and aligned with client objectives and Extropys best practices.

Tasks

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design & Optimization

  • Lead end-to-end solution configuration strategy and deployment planning for P2P/Finance automation projects.
  • Review and validate configurations implemented by L1 and L2 teams to ensure alignment with business requirements and architectural standards.
  • Identify system and process improvement opportunities recommending design enhancements or automation strategies.
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects to translate business objectives into functional and technical solutions.
  • Support integration strategy development including data flow mapping API utilization and cross-system dependencies.

Advanced Issue Resolution & Root Cause Analysis

  • Serve as the final escalation point for complex or critical incidents across all client environments.
  • Perform deep-dive analysis to identify root causes of recurring issues and propose long-term corrective actions.
  • Oversee and validate fixes implemented by lower levels ensuring accuracy sustainability and governance compliance.
  • Drive proactive monitoring initiatives to minimize incidents and improve system stability.

Governance Standards & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure all solutions configurations and documentation adhere to Extropys governance and quality frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain internal best practice templates configuration standards and troubleshooting guides.
  • Participate in internal audits and compliance assessments to maintain service excellence.
  • Contribute to Extropys methodology evolution through continuous feedback and innovation.

Client Engagement & Strategic Support

  • Act as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders providing expert guidance on P2P process optimization configuration strategy and platform capabilities.
  • Lead technical and functional discussions with clients during reviews escalations or improvement workshops.
  • Support project scoping change request evaluation and effort estimation for enhancements.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Architects to ensure timely quality-focused delivery across engagements.

Mentorship Leadership & Knowledge Sharing

  • Mentor and guide L1 and L2 consultants on advanced configuration issue resolution and professional development.
  • Conduct internal training sessions and lead enablement initiatives on new tools methodologies or platform capabilities.
  • Review deliverables prepared by junior consultants providing constructive feedback and direction.
  • Foster a culture of knowledge sharing collaboration and technical excellence across pods.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Partner with Solution Architects Developers and Technical Leads to ensure seamless alignment between functional and technical layers.
  • Engage with Extropys internal leadership team to provide insights on recurring client challenges trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Support pre-sales and solution design discussions by providing domain and technical expertise where needed.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

Required Experience

  • 35 years of experience delivering P2P/AP automation solutions in a consulting implementation or senior support role.
  • Deep functional expertise across multiple Basware modules (e.g. AP Automation Network Purchasing Insights Integrations).
  • Experience leading end-to-end implementations or major workstreams with minimal oversight.
  • Track record of client leadership: running workshops driving requirement sessions advising stakeholders and managing escalations.
  • Background mentoring junior consultants reviewing deliverables and contributing to project governance.
  • Strong experience conducting root-cause analysis designing scalable solutions and collaborating with technical teams.
  • Demonstrated success in influencing customer decision-making and managing expectations.

Technical Skills

Expert understanding of Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Accounts Payable workflows including integration with ERP systems.

Advanced configuration expertise in Basware Esker or similar solutions (e.g. Ariba Coupa Tradeshift).

Deep understanding of data mapping API frameworks SFTP and middleware integration concepts.

Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities including performance optimization and root cause diagnostics.

Proficiency in using Asana SharePoint MS Office Suite and other project documentation tools.

Experience with automation scripting or SQL queries is a plus.

Education Requirements

Bachelors degree in Information Systems Business Computer Science Engineering or related field preferred.

Relevant P2P/AP automation training or Basware certification strongly preferred.

Work Arrangement

Remote

9 AM to 5 PM EST with flexibility working with global teams across multiple time zones.

Travel Requirements

No travel is required.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Quality and accuracy of end-to-end solution design and architecture alignment.
  • Successful resolution of high-severity or complex escalations with minimal recurrence.
  • Contribution to governance frameworks best-practice assets and internal IP.
  • Client satisfaction scores related to L3-led workshops build (sprint demos) and escalations.
  • Reduction in repeat incidents across pods supported.
  • Effectiveness of mentorship for L1/L2 consultants (measured through performance uplift reduced escalations etc.).

Progression Goal:

  • Expand advanced design technical strategy and cross-platform integration expertise to progress into a Solution Architect role within 2436 months by demonstrating architectural leadership strategic client advisory capability and organization-wide influence on delivery standards. ORDevelop advanced leadership coaching and delivery oversight skills to progress into a Team Lead role within 1218 months by demonstrating consistent ownership of complex solutions guiding L2/L3 consultants and contributing to practice standards quality frameworks and cross-pod alignment.
