Location: Research Triangle Park NC 27709

Work Type: Onsite

Shift: Monday-Friday 8.00AM-5.00PM

Job Description:

Duties:

The disease trait discovery team at RTP is looking for a candidate with suitable experience to join our team as Lab Assistant.
Team members typically spend their time collecting plant tissue and plant phenotypic data in the greenhouse as well as maintaining plant pathogen cultures and conducting experiments in the lab.
Willingness to work in a greenhouse environment is key as well as comfort working in a lab setting.
Understandably a candidate may not have extensive experience in all the above however a curious and ready to learn candidate will also be considered.

Skills:

Preferred skills/experience:

Microbiology particularly sterile culture of fungi and bacteria.
Wet lab skills including PCR/gel electrophoresis bacterial transformation and leaf infiltration.
Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Completed or soon to be complete bachelor level degree in biology horticulture or a related field.

Education:

May require a bachelors degree
