Position Summary The Surgical Tech facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures by preparing the operating room and assisting the surgical team during operations. This role ensures that all instruments and equipment are ready functional and accounted for throughout the procedure.
Reports to: Director of Surgery/OR
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Essential Functions -
Prepare operating suite with necessary drapes solutions instruments equipment and supplies.

Verify proper working order of instruments and equipment prior to surgery.

Assist with preparing transporting positioning and draping patients.

Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon during procedures.
-
Maintain an accurate count and location of all instruments and supplies during surgery.
-
Receive and process specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
Non-Essential Functions -
Interact professionally with internal team members and external clients patients vendors and contractors.

Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPAA.

Demonstrate understanding and adherence to hospital policies procedures and recommended practices.

Perform additional duties as assigned.
