Job Summary

Primary job title: School Librarian

About the opportunity
A role in the K12 Education sector supporting classroom learning literacy development and digital resource access across an on-site school environment in India. We seek a qualified librarian to manage the school library as a learning hubcurating print and digital collections teaching information literacy and partnering with teachers to align resources with the curriculum.

Role & Responsibilities

Manage and develop the school library collection: selection acquisition cataloguing and classification to meet curriculum and student reading needs.
Operate and administer library systems and OPAC for circulation cataloguing (MARC21) and access to e-resources and databases.
Design and deliver information-literacy sessions and research-skills workshops for students and staff; integrate library resources into classroom lessons.
Maintain physical and digital resource accessibilityshelving preservation digital subscriptions licensing compliance and inventory control.
Coordinate reading programs author events book fairs and literacy initiatives to drive student engagement and wide reading culture.
Supervise library support staff maintain circulation records prepare usage reports and support procurement/budgeting for library resources.

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

or degree (Bachelor/Master in Library & Information Science) and valid eligibility to work on-site in India.
Demonstrable experience managing a K12 or school library environment; strong understanding of curriculum-supportive resource development.
Hands-on knowledge of classification and cataloguing standards (Dewey Decimal MARC21) and library management systems (Koha/Libsys).
Proven ability to teach information literacy research skills and integrate library learning with classroom instruction.
Familiarity with e-resources management OPAC administration digital subscriptions and license compliance.
Organizational skills for inventory management basic budgeting reporting and supervision of library staff.

Preferred

Teaching certification or formal training in school librarianship / library automation.
Experience with Google Workspace for Education or LMS integration for blended learning support..
