Position Overview:
Were seeking a proactive and versatile Business Development & Project Manager to join our team in Sacramento. This cross-functional role blends strategic business development with hands-on project management - ideal for someone who thrives in both relationship-building and execution.
In this position youll work directly with Vincent Yee President of NEXGEN to drive growth initiatives manage strategic partnerships and oversee implementation projects from concept to completion. Youll play a key role in expanding NEXGENs market presence across vertical sectors supporting strategic initiatives and ensuring seamless project delivery for our clients.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and critical thinker who enjoys switching between big-picture strategy and day-to-day detail management. Youre comfortable leading meetings coordinating stakeholders and keeping projects moving forward.
This full-time role is based in our Sacramento CA office (four days in-office one day remote) with light travel (<20%).
Responsibilities:
This role will work directly with Vincent Yee President on business development assignments that may include the following:
- Business Development
- Sales Proposal Development Interview Preparation Configuring Scenarios and Interviews
- Managing analyzing and tracking sales performance metrics
- Market Development
- Developing plans for vertical sectors
- Executing plans for vertical sector market entry or development
- Evaluate and identify opportunities to expand geographically and/or vertical sectors.
- Strategic Initiatives
- Strategic initiatives to evaluate or establish strategic initiatives that may include Federal or vertical sectors.
- Strategic Alliances
- Assist in managing strategic alliances with consultants and other software companies on collaboration and communication.
- Strategic Planning and Business Planning
- Assist in development of annual business plans Tracking monthly and quarterly performance metrics
- Project & task management
- Managing implementation projects as assigned. Responsible for project management duties including client project management calls managing scope deliverables budget schedule progress reports and invoicing.
- Assuming that the projects that this position are assigned in collaboration with Vincent Yee as the Program Manager he will be the direct supervisor on these projects.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Business Marketing Communications Project Management or a related field.
- 5 years of professional experience in business development project management or a similar role.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present confidently to clients and executives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and proactively identify opportunities for improvement or growth.
- Experience in the software technology asset management or public works/water industries is a plus.
- Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently and manage cross-functional stakeholders.
Compensation:
The compensation range for the annual base pay for this position is $90000 - $110000. In addition to base pay employees may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus. The stated salary represents the expected compensation for this position. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individuals skills experience qualifications and education.
A comprehensive benefits package is offered that includes three weeks of paid time off per year; paid holidays; a 401(k)-retirement plan with employer matching; health insurance; and other supplemental benefits.
