Job Description

The Senior Product Manager for Enterprise Platforms will drive the shift from a project-based to a product-centric model within the Enterprise Platforms & Enablement (EPE) portfolio specifically focusing on the Connecting Amtrak value stream which includes network connectivity reliability and security.

This role is highly strategic and requires a deep IT infrastructure background with expertise in network architecture. The Senior Product Manager will be accountable for executing product strategy across multiple platform products prioritizing outcomes developing long-term roadmaps aligned with technology goals and leading a team of Product Owners to ensure cohesive delivery and operational excellence within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy and Roadmap:
Define and reinforce effective Product Management practices to establish the vision strategy and comprehensive long-term roadmaps for a portfolio of complex enterprise platform products ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and technology roadmaps.

Prioritization and Backlog:
Own the prioritization and management of the product backlog across multiple products making data-driven decisions to select features and user stories based on business value customer feedback and technical feasibility.

Stakeholder Leadership:
Serve as the primary liaison between business leaders technical teams (Engineering Architecture) Product Owners and other stakeholders to ensure cohesive feature delivery clear communication and universal alignment with the product vision and priorities.

Agile and SAFe Champion:
Lead the implementation and champion the principles of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) within the Agile Release Train (ART) ensuring high-level priorities and value delivery are consistently maintained across teams.

Metrics and Value Analysis:
Define track and analyze key success metrics to measure delivered value identify opportunities for improvement and inform strategic pivots for the platform products.

Thought Leadership:
Act as a subject matter expert in Product Management mentoring Product Owners and promoting best practices across the Digital Technology (DT) organization.

Mandatory Skills

  • 912 years of Product Management experience including leadership of product teams in enterprise environments.
  • Strong IT infrastructure expertise — specifically in network connectivity reliability availability and performance.
  • Proven experience developing and managing product strategy and roadmaps for large-scale platform products.
  • Hands-on experience with Agile and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodologies.
  • Excellent stakeholder management communication and facilitation skills.
  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field (or equivalent practical experience).

Highly Desired Skills

  • Experience leading the transformation from project-based to product-centric models.
  • Familiarity with enterprise network architecture and digital platform enablement.
  • Strong analytical background with ability to define and measure product success metrics.
  • Experience mentoring Product Owners and fostering Agile best practices.
  • Prior experience in large-scale IT infrastructure or transportation industry environments (e.g. Amtrak utilities logistics).
