Job Summary

SUMMARY:

Responsible for supervising the Facility Technicians coordinating with the Director/Manager on all work safety and security issues and quality control and for the effective coordination and completion of all including but not limited to; Pool and hot tub operations snow removal HVAC repairs and maintenance grounds keeping/landscaping carpentry drywall wallpaper installation and/or painting /and or basic electrical basic plumbing issues extensive preventive maintenance on hotel equipment including but not limited to; Roof air units boilers glycol and water intake and outtake systems and kitchen restaurants gift shop and all other areas of Hotel.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Will be responsible for overseeing and assisting in Preventive Maintenance included periodically changing filters greasing of motors replacing belts on motors and various other repairs and hotel and all area of hotel property.
  • Will be responsible for overseeing and assisting in Room repairs including but not limited to; Carpet repairs and cleaning repairs or replacement of bathroom fixtures Drywall electrical plugins lighting systems HVAC repairs and replacement repairs and replacement of room furniture door lock repairs replacement as well as door lock programming and preventive maintenance.
  • Will be responsible for overseeing and assisting the Pool and hot tub operator; Constant and consistent pool maintenance including balancing pools chemical properties (pH chlorine hardness levels) cleaning and stocking the pool area for guest use preventive maintenance and programing chemical feeders for pool and hot tub operating sand filters. Supervisors are to encourage the Facility Technicians to obtain Certification for Pool Operating (CPO). Safety is a number on priority in pool operations.
  • Will be responsible for overseeing and assisting all hotels rooms; top to bottom cleaning of rooms when assigned shampooing carpets replacing any damaged items in rooms.
  • Will be responsible for overseeing and assisting in receiving supplies for facilities and other departments of the Shoshone-Bannock Hotel.
  • Will be responsible for overseeing assigning and assisting in grounds keeping/landscaping duties; Maintaining and operating sprinkler system fertilizing and mowing of grass cutting weeds picking up trash throughout hotel property.
  • Assist Security in some circumstances (will be trained on circumstances).
  • Will be responsible for overseeing assigning and assisting in Snow Removal; Operating snow plow (training is required as well as Drivers License and Fleet Eligible) removing snow into designated areas applying ice melt to walkways. Training personnel in proper use of equipment Quality control
  • Kitchen Area: Overseeing and assisting in maintaining preventative maintenance on equipment for proper operation.
  • Will be responsible for overseeing and assisting in performing basic carpentry structural framing and dry wall wallpaper ceiling tiles welding and painting throughout the property as needed.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

CERTIFICATES LICENSE AND REGISTRATIONS

  • Must be able to submit supporting documents of education and training (High School Diploma GED Degree and Certificates) to support qualifications.
  • Must be able to obtain an OSHA 30 certification certified pool operator IBOA certified Building Management Level 1 certification/training within one year of hire. (Trainings will be provided by department)
  • Must acquire certification of scissor lift forklift boom man lift OSHA 30 IBOA Level 1 CPO certification and Controls certification. (All trainings and certifications will be considered to advance G12 in the first year of employment)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain in good standing a Drivers License and qualify for Fleet Management coverage on company vehicles. Drivers License required due to the machines/vehicles that will be used while on the job.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • G10- High School diploma or general education degree (G.E.D.). Two years documented successful supervisor experience preferred. Occupationally significant combination of vocational education and/or on-the-job training preferred.
  • G11-Minimum of one (1) to (2) years successful Facilities/Maintenance experience with one (1) year successful supervisory experience in a full service hotel and knowledge of Hotel software.
  • G12-Associates Degree or 2 years of certifiable training in related field to construction. GRADE/STEP Increases are also negotiable based on certifications and experience


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directly supervises all Facilities Technicians on shift.

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Strong organizational skills required.

Ability to add subtracts multiply and divides in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The Employee regularly climbs and works from a twelve (12) foot ladder work off a scissor lift operate forklift. The Employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
