Job Description
Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Oxfordshire
Salary: 30000 - 35000 per annum
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing company based in Oxfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer to contribute to the design and development of innovative mechanical products and systems within a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities:
Produce detailed 3D and 2D CAD models and engineering drawings for manufacture.
Support new product development and continuous improvement projects.
Work closely with the manufacturing and production teams to ensure designs are optimised for fabrication and assembly.
Generate Bills of Materials (BoMs) and technical documentation.
Assist in prototype testing validation and product improvement activities.
Ensure all designs meet performance quality and safety standards.
Requirements:
HNC/D or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
Proven experience in mechanical design within a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks Inventor or similar).
Good understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining sheet metal and fabrication.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
