Location: Springhill Nova Scotia

Hours: Part-time - 18.125 hours/week; Full-time - 36.25 hours/week

Salary Range: $33.85 to $52.08 per hour based on experience and level of post-secondary education.

What youll do

Responsibilities

As part of the School of Professional and Part-time Learning collaborating with and reporting to the Business Development Manager you are responsible for:

  • Planning and preparing instructional materials and resources;
  • Establishing and managing a positive learning environment;
  • Instructing and evaluating students;
  • Building and sustaining professional relationships with students colleagues community partners and stakeholders as well as other related duties.

What youll need

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Education Degree with related work experience (OR) Bachelors degree AND Certificate in Adult Education (OR) Certificate in Andragogy (OR) and/or a Masters in Education from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with at least three years of recent and related work experience.

  • Nova Scotia teachers license.
  • WHIMIS and Basic First Aid.

Assets:

  • Bilingual (English/French) skills would be considered an asset.
  • Experience teaching adult learners would be a valuable asset.


Professional Skills:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Highly flexible with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to navigate and build relationships effectively throughout the organization.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills analytical ability and innovative thinking.
  • Self-motivated service and results oriented.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and within a team.
  • A desire for continuous learning and growth.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo a criminal background check and be asked to show proof of vaccination before an offer of employment is made.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with experience working in a post-secondary environment.

Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent. Subject to competition response the minimum qualifications may be raised.
