Job Title: Part-time Physical Science Lab Coordinator
Department: Arts Sciences and Business
Salary Range: $15.00-$17.00 per hour
Immediate Supervisor: Physical Science Department Chair
Schedule Details: Part-time (not to exceed 19.5 hours per week)
Position Summary
The part-time Physical Science Lab Coordinator works in support of the physical science department assisting with lab set up and coordinating lab schedules for all the physical science labs.
Essential Job Duties
Coordinate weekly laboratory sessions for the Physical Science Department.
Prepare lab materials and setups independently or in collaboration with work-study students.
Maintain and organize laboratory spaces ensuring they are clean stocked and ready for instruction.
Operate maintain and support laboratory equipment and related technologies.
Manage the ordering receiving inventory and storage of lab supplies and equipment.
Ensure proper care calibration maintenance and safety of all departmental materials and instruments.
Communicate effectively with faculty regarding equipment chemicals and lab organization.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities
High school diploma or equivalent.
Academic background in a science related field (including various high school and college coursework).
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work well with others.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Maintain a dependable work schedule and uphold professional standards of punctuality and attendance.
Ability to use information technology for professional productivity (such as Microsoft Office Suite).
Preferred Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Experience in preparation of chemical solutions.
Knowledge of scientific weights and measures.
Experience in receiving and stocking.
Experience working within a collegiate setting.

Environment:Work is performed primarily in a standard office setting with frequent interruptions and distractions. Requires extended periods of time viewing computer monitor or standing; may require adjustment of schedule to include some evening and/or weekends; may encounter occasional exposure to inclement weather during travel.
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to lift carry push and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard.
