About the role
Thiess Mount Arthur South have an exciting opportunity for you to expand your skills and grow within a high performing team as a Maintenance Leading Hand.
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor you will be part of a team that is committed to developing our people.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Strong safety focus and high attention to detail ensuring maintenance activities comply with site safety processes.
- Coach and mentor crew members to execute maintenance tasks safely and efficiently.
- Source technical information from the relevant available reference manuals technical bulletins and computer-based systems.
- Proven ability to work well under pressure demonstrating high levels of initiative.
- Ensure mobile plant equipment defects are completed within an acceptable timeframe.
- Provide technical information to staff and operations personnel.
- Source and requisition parts and / or equipment requirements through the appropriate manuals or publications using the correct ordering procedure.
- Verify the implementation of solutions and/or control further non-conforming machinery until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
About you
- Trade qualified Plant Mechanic
- Proven post Trade experience in a Leading Hand or Senior maintenance role on an operational Mine
- G1G8G9 certificate (highly regarded)
- Strong working knowledge of large-scale mining equipment and maintenance practices
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work with cross functional teams
- High level of commitment to safety compliance and continuous improvement
