The Senior DevOps Engineer will play a key role in maintaining scaling and improving our cloud and engineering infrastructure. This position focuses on building resilient secure and efficient AWS-based systems that support a growing health technology platform. The role involves close collaboration with software engineering teams to streamline delivery processes and ensure operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and evolve AWS infrastructure to support business and product growth
- Administer and enhance Kubernetes clusters to ensure scalability and reliability
- Continuously improve Infrastructure as Code (IaC) implementations using Terraform/OpenTofu
- Implement and uphold cloud security best practices and compliance controls
- Develop maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines (BuildKite CodePipeline or similar)
- Design and manage monitoring and logging solutions using tools such as Datadog and CloudWatch
- Analyze system performance metrics to improve reliability availability and cost efficiency
- Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date infrastructure documentation runbooks and standards
- 5 years of experience in DevOps Site Reliability Engineering or Infrastructure Engineering roles
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent professional experience
- Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services and Kubernetes in production environments
- Knowledge of GCP with exposure to BigQuery
- Strong expertise in Terraform/OpenTofu IaC principles and GitOps workflows
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for automated builds tests and deployments
- Strong scripting and automation skills in Python and/or Bash
- Strong background as a Python developer (beyond scripting)
- Proficiency with monitoring and observability tools (Datadog CloudWatch etc.)
- Sound understanding of security best practices and implementation of cloud security controls
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and system performance issues
- Advanced proficiency with Terraform and exposure to Pulumi
- Experience with and TypeScript ecosystems
- Previous experience in high-growth or startup environments where scale and speed coexist
