Planner / Senior Planner Cheltenham or Bristol

Salary: Highly competitive dependent on experience

Employment type: Permanent Full-time Hybrid working available

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Planner or Senior Planner to join a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy with a growing planning division based across Cheltenham and Bristol. The team works on a wide range of exciting projects from residential and mixed-use developments to strategic regeneration and infrastructure helping to shape sustainable high-quality places across the South West and beyond.

The Opportunity

Youll be involved in a diverse portfolio of planning projects providing expert advice managing applications and contributing to the continued growth of the planning team.

Key responsibilities include:

Preparing and managing a variety of planning applications and appeals.
Undertaking planning appraisals and research for potential development opportunities.
Providing clear commercially focused planning advice to clients.
Supporting senior colleagues on complex or large-scale schemes.
Liaising with local authorities developers and external consultants.
Keeping up to date with planning policy legislation and best practice.

About You

MRTPI qualified or on track to achieve chartership within the next 12 months.
Experience in a Local Authority planning department (ideally within a London Borough or large urban authority) is desirable with any private sector experience considered a strong advantage.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong understanding of planning policy legislation and the wider development process.
Organised proactive and confident working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
