Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Journeyperson Electrician to join our team at the Stanley Park Tunnel Project. This role involves the construction installation and maintenance of mobile and fixed electrical systems ranging from 120V 1PH to 12.5kV 3PH.
The successful candidate will be experienced in working on live systems electrical distribution and mobile equipment with strong troubleshooting and commissioning skills. Work environments include vertical shafts up to 50 meters deep and tunnels with a diameter of 3.8 meters requiring comfort with confined spaces and underground conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install maintain and repair electrical systems and equipment
- Safely work on live electrical systems
- Commission and troubleshoot mobile and fixed electrical equipment
- Perform electrical work in vertical shafts (up to 50m deep) and confined tunnels (3.8m diameter)
- Interpret and work from electrical prints and schematics
- Ensure compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code
- Maintain a high standard of safety and professionalism onsite
Requirements
- Certified Journeyperson Electrician
- Experience with high voltage systems and underground/mining environments (asset)
- Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems
- Comfortable working in confined underground spaces
- Familiarity with shaft and tunnel equipment such as shotcrete pumps and road headers is an advantage
- Proficient in using hand and power tools
- Computer operation w/Microsoft Excel/Outlook
- Self-motivated responsible and safety-oriented
