Save the Children International has an exciting opportunity for a Global Storytelling Lead (Maternity Cover 11 months Fixed Term Contract) to join our global team.

Team and Job Purpose

The Global Communications Team has a number of critical accountabilities: to lead and deliver our global media strategy to lead and deliver integrated and impactful global/ regional communications to drive social media presence for all Save the Children International (SCI) channels to protect brand through crisis communications work to work with Country Offices and Member offices to drive income and influence through communications and to lead global brand management creative content & the Children has launched a Global Engagement Framework that informs and shifts how the movement works together to support our communications funding brand and impact agenda for children.

Brand and Creative Content Unit purpose

To harness the power of brand and creative content to expand our reach increase revenue and enhance our reputation. Working collaboratively with the global movement the Brand and Creative Content Unit leads our global brand proposition and delivers impactful high-quality content and storytelling to the Save the Children movement helping us to ensure the support children need for the future.

Role purpose

To drive the strategic creation and delivery of compelling authentic creative content that aligns with our Global Engagement Framework and organisational goals meeting diverse member requirements and fostering a unified brand voice. This role ensures the development of impactful audience-centric storytelling and creative assets effectively supporting fundraising advocacy brand media and communications efforts across teams. By collaborating closely with members across the world and understanding their strategic content needs this position helps amplify our cause and engage wider audiences for lasting impact on childrens lives.

Location:Anyexisting SCI office location

Time Zone(that the role holdermustbe available to work in):/- 1 hour GMT

Experience and Skills

Essential

  1. Strategic Creative Storytelling and Narrative Development

Possesses strong foundation of experience in creating gathering and curating compelling narratives that align with organisational income and influencing goals and engage diverse global audiences as well asmanaging creative projects from concept through to delivery encouraging new and innovative storytelling solutions.

2. Content Production

Strong experience of developing content into assets for targeted audiences for fundraising/campaigning purposes and knowledge of gathering content in projects in different regions to the various steps of processing safeguarding and securing content sign-off.

3. Leadership

Proven leadership skills including the ability to mentor manage and support a team effectively as well as lead by example fostering a culture of accountability and mutual respect.

4. Collaboration and Relationship Management

Builds and maintains effective relationships with Members colleagues and external creative partners understanding audience needs and ensuring collaborative efforts across different functions and teams globally in order to drive quality creative content.

5. Adaptability and Crisis Management

Agility in Emergencies: Demonstrates the ability to swiftly adapt and create content during major humanitarian emergencies ensuring prompt and effective communication to relevant stakeholders maintaining high performance even under pressure.

6. Cultural Competence and Ethical Standards

Shows accountability in promoting cultural competence within storytelling efforts understanding different cultural perspectives and integrating them into content creation. Holds self and team accountable for ethical storytelling encouraging openness and transparency in all communications.

7. Technical and Digital Proficiency

Considerable experience in leveraging various digital platforms content creation software and media to deliver engaging storytelling content (including social media websites and multimedia tools) while ensuring data and audience insights guide content strategy and measure the effectiveness of campaigns.

8. Fundraising Advocacy and Influence

Uses storytelling as a strategic tool for fundraising marketing and advocacy adeptly crafting audience-centric messages that inspire action for Save the Childrens mission and objectives while ensuring a unified and consistent brand voice across all content.

9. Communication and Interpersonal Skills

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly creatively and effectively.

10. Knowledge of Global Trends and Technologies

Familiarity with the latest trends in global storytelling and digital content creation.

Desirable

1 Foundation of Experience in developing and executing storytelling strategies within a global context ideally within the non-profit or humanitarian sectors.

2. Knowledge of negotiating and clearing licenses for footage music and photography.
