About Womens Legal Services Australia

Womens Legal Services Australia (WLSA) is the national peak organisation for 13 specialist Womens Legal Services across every state and territory. Our mission is to promote a legal system that is safe supportive non-discriminatory and responsive to the needs of women particularly victim-survivors of gender-based violence. WLSA members also offer services to trans and gender diverse people who have experiences of oppression.

WLSAs purpose is to:

  • Engage in national advocacy for policy law reform and systemic change to achieve justice safety and equality for women.
  • Build the capacity of Womens Legal Services to deliver gender-specialist integrated legal services for women.
  • Create collaborative spaces for the network of Womens Legal Services to work together learn from each other and develop best practice in the delivery of high-quality services.

WLSA members work within a collaborative feminist framework.

About Womens Legal Service Victoria

For over 40 years Womens Legal Service Victoria (Womens Legal) has championed womens rights to live free from violence. We are a dedicated team with a passion for working with women and non-binary people to live free from violence and discrimination by:

  • Providing high quality integrated legal services for Victorian women and non-binary people who are victim-survivors of family violence and disadvantagedor marginalised by structural and systemic barriers.
  • Building the capacity of professionals who work with women and non-binary people to better understandthe law and navigate the legal system safely.
  • Advancing gender equality by challenging unsafe and discriminatory policies andlaws and informing and advocating for legal and policy initiatives that respect andpromote the rights of women and non-binary people.

About the Role

As our Administrative Officer you will play a key role in keeping Womens Legal Services Australia (WLSA) running smoothly. Youll provide high level administrative support to ensure our national network functions efficiently and collaboratively. This includes:

  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Executive Director Chair and team.
  • Coordinate meetings manage calendars and prepare agendas and minutes.
  • Draft format and proofread reports correspondence and presentations.
  • Maintain accurate and accessible digital records and website content.
  • Support policy and procedure reviews.
  • Help coordinate logistics for national meetings and events.

About You

Youre a skilled administrator who thrives on organisation efficiency and collaboration. You bring initiative professionalism and a genuine commitment to intersectional feminist values and gender equality.

Key to your success is your:

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive can-do attitude with the ability to be flexible in a changing environment.
  • The ability to build rapport and work respectfully with diverse stakeholders.
  • Integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.

You will:

  • Have extensive experience in an office environment with exposure to a broad range of administrative duties.
  • Experience in administrative support within a legal of not-for-profit setting will be highly regarded.
