Primary Objective
Business Intelligence Developers (BID) are responsible for analyzing providing specifications for and writing individual reports for assigned applications to support the needs of end users senior leadership and the Epic project team. This position serves as the primary reporting resource for the Epic Cogito application and have the responsibility for system support maintenance analysis design and change control of all reporting components used to build and manage CEENTAs reporting.

Training Period
Epic certifications require either in-person (Verona WI) or virtual classroom training through Epic Systems. Most certifications require the trainee to submit a project and pass an exam. Staff will have 3 attempts to pass each exam.
Cogito Team Members should expect to become proficient in their application area within 6 months. Full competency is expected within 12-18 months. Analysts are also expected to be familiar with CEENTA workflows and standards within 6 months.

The BI Developer oversees developing deploying and maintaining BI interfaces which insures that CEENTA management and providers have timely access to accurate data to make informed decisions which improves the delivery of care to CEENTAs patients.
Education
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Computer Science Business Administration Health Information Management or a related field.
Experience
Must have at least two (2) years of full-time work experience in business healthcare or systems analysis business or healthcare administration or a related area. Two (2) years of Epic Cogito experience preferred. General healthcare experience preferred.

Work Environment
This is a traditional office-oriented role working with a standard setup of technology and tools. The in-office environment supports focused analytical work while fostering collaboration and communication. Remote work environments should provide a similar environment. Travel to Epic headquarters may be required during first 6 months to facilitate Epic certification. Otherwise minimal travel requirements; may travel to CEENTA offices as needed

A Typical Day in the Position
The BI Developer primarily builds custom reports using SQL to access Clarity and Caboodle databases. They create custom relational logic to meet user requests and determine the best BI delivery method to solve business needs. They collaborate with the Database Administrator and ETL Administrator to ensure data accuracy and report integrity. BIDs routinely engage with CEENTA operations finance and technology leaders and occasionally engage with physicians provide training to these groups as well as other end users of reporting tools.
