The Epic Ambulatory Trainer designs and disseminates Epic training to providers and employees to ensure high quality patient care delivery and efficient administrative functions within Epic.

Training Period
Epic certifications require either in-person or virtual classroom training through Epic Systems. Most certifications require the trainee to submit a project and pass an exam. Staff will have 3 attempts to pass each exam.
Trainers should expect to become proficient in CEENTA workflows and learning management systems within 6 months. Full competency of training environments and related application knowledge is expected within 12 months.

Education
High school diploma required. Bachelors degree preferred.
Experience
2 years of Epic experience preferred.
Certificates Licenses Registrations
An active Epic (2020) Epic Ambulatory Curriculum certification preferred. Certification must be obtained within 3 months of hire date.
Certifications relating to other Epic modules software applications technology infrastructure and or clinical specializations are an advantage.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
Full-time. Standard hours of operation (and working hours): 8am-5pm Monday-Friday. Additional evening/weekend hours may be required to complete system updates.
Upon successful completion of a probationary period and in good standing employee is eligible for remote work.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job the employee may be required to sit in front of a computer for long hours type and repetitively click a mouse. May be required to stand for long periods of time while training.
Mental Demands: ability to problem solve ability to work under pressure ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment ability to use discretion and sensitivity ability to work alone for long stretches of time.
Travel
Required travel to training classrooms. Occasionally travel to other offices to accommodate user needs. Occasional travel (inside and outside of NC and SC) for training classes implementations and conferences. Change in expectations may occur with little to no notice and will be reviewed periodically.

A Typical Day in the Position
A typical day of an Epic Ambulatory trainer involves designing creating and updating training materials for their application area. The trainer provides classroom virtual and/or written training for new and existing employees as needed. The Epic Ambulatory trainer communicates with their supervisor on a consistent basis reporting any issues or concerns that need to be escalated. The trainer also assists with answering end-user questions.
