About the Role

This exciting new full time permanent maternal and infant mental health Registered Nurse position will be based with the Dunedin Community Mental health Teams will full access to the multi-disciplinary team. This position will have a range of responsibilities including consultation liaison education collaboration with other maternal mental health providers and will carry a small clinical caseload. Previous clinical experience in maternal and infant mental health is essential. Post graduate qualifications relevant to this area of expertise is desirable.

This role will:

  • Work alongside CMHT key workers providing expert advice and guidance
  • Be a key worker for small caseload for Dunedin.
  • Facilitate and oversee the Maternal Mental Health triage meeting
  • Work in collaboration with other maternal Mental Health providers
  • Work alongside the educators providing clinical expertise for mothers and babies education
  • Provide Consultation and Liaison to MHAID Otago and Womens and Childrens Directorate
  • Attend vulnerable pregnancy group meetings
  • Work with MHAID Data experts and teams to ensure accurate capture of maternal MH Data

About you

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
  • Hold a current Nursing Council of New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate
  • Current driver license with clean driving record (if required for the role)
  • Commitment to completing mandatory training and self-learning packages as required by the service and organisation within agreed timeframes
  • Commitment to adhering to Health New Zealand Code of Conduct
  • Competent Professional Development and Recognition Programme (PDRP) portfolio or equivalent is desirable
