Job Summary

We are seeking an Educational Development Consultant to join the Learning and Teaching Design Ranga Auaha Ako team within the Education Office. This role plays a key part in supporting the Universitys strategic education initiatives to enhance teaching quality and student learning outcomes.

As an Educational Development Consultant you will provide expert advice and leadership in areas of pedagogy curriculum development assessment and educational technology. You will design deliver and evaluate professional learning programmesmost notably the Teaching Well initiativeensuring that teaching and teaching-adjacent staff have access to transformative professional development opportunities.

You will collaborate with the Director of Learning and Teaching and work closely with colleagues across faculties to develop and deliver high-quality learning activities and resources and contribute to the scholarship of teaching and learning.

This is a full-time permanent position 37.5 hours per week. The salary range for this role is $112100 - $137200 depending on experience and qualifications.

Mō tō mātou rōpū About the team

The Education Office leads the Universitys strategic education initiatives ensuring that teaching and learning are aligned with Taumata Teitei Vision 2030 and Strategic Plan 2025.

Within this the Learning and Teaching Design Ranga Auaha Ako team supports academic staff across faculties in designing curricula that reflect the Universitys Graduate Profile. The team also delivers large-scale learning design support curriculum initiatives and innovative professional learning programmes to enhance the student learning experience across the University.

 

He kōrero mōu About you

You will be an experienced tertiary educator with a strong background in teaching and learning innovation. You will also have:

  • A postgraduate qualification (Masters or Doctorate) in higher education or a related field.
  • A proven track record of high-quality teaching in a tertiary (preferably university) setting.
  • Experience in online and blended learning design and delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to inspire and engage others.
  • Strong project management and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate across diverse academic and professional communities.

Experience in developing professional learning programmes or supporting academic development will be highly valued.
