About the Role
The Duty Manager provides effective oversight of hotel operations during each shift. You will lead with calm confidence resolve issues in real time and ensure strong communication and continuity between teams. This role plays a vital part in maintaining guest satisfaction operational efficiency and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise Front Office operations including check-ins check-outs guest enquiries and lobby experience.
- Resolve guest issues promptly and professionally ensuring exceptional service standards at all times.
- Provide operational leadership across the hotel supporting Food & Beverage Housekeeping Maintenance and other teams for smooth hotel functioning.
- Act as Chief Warden and First Responder during emergencies ensuring safety and compliance.
- Maintain a visible safety and security presence conducting routine patrols and managing incident responses.
- Make sound operational decisions in the absence of senior management ensuring continuity and service excellence.
- Ensure effective handovers and accurate reporting to support communication across all departments.
Qualifications :
- Minimum one year of experience as a Duty Manager in a hotel environment.
- Strong leadership communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in hotel systems ideally Opera plus strong skills in Microsoft Office.
- Current RSA RP First Aid and Chief Warden certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Availability to work a rotating 24/7 roster including nights weekends and public holidays.
- Full unrestricted Australian working rights.
