We are hiring: Hospitality Assistant Full Time
Starting wage: $18.00-$20.00/hour DOE.
Job type: Full-time Non-exempt
Schedule: 8:00am-4:00pm Saturday-Wednesday (Thursday/Friday off)
Training: Alternatives provides thorough orientation and training for all new staff.
You can expect a one-week orientation where you will learn all about Alternatives and be prepared for taking on your role.
This first week is 9am-5pm at our Alternatives Training Center.
Continual on-going training is provided to all our staff to keep them current on their roles industry standards and contractual compliance.
What Skills do you need
Housekeepers should have excellent cleaning skills and enjoy the fulfilment of this work.
It is also important to be able to work with offenders and maintain strong boundaries with them.
Must haves:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a current Montana drivers license.
- Ability to pass Federal workplace drug and alcohol testing requirements.
- Good writing and verbal skills.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of MS Office programs.
- Preferred Experience: Experience working in community corrections and environmental services.
About the team:
The Housekeeping team is led by an experienced supervisor who has been with the Agency for over 15 years.
She oversees 3 Hospitality Assistants who all run a great communicative well-organized team.

Main job duties in this role include:
- Supervise Inmate Workers ensuring they perform their duties effectively.
- Empty garbage in all rooms and line garbage cans with clean liners. Ensure garbage is taken out to outside dumpster properly.
- Clean and disinfect toilets sinks and all hard surfaces. Dust mop and mop floors. Fill all dispensers to include: paper towels soap toilet paper and hand sanitizer. Empty garbage clean walls mirrors and door. Clean shower and bathtubs.
- Dust office furniture including chairs desks key boards computer screens tables and file cabinets. Wipe fingerprints and marks off walls doorframes and light switches. Clean all glass and windows as needed.
- Facility laundry including resident uniforms rags towels bedding and other items.
- Restock chemicals paper products rags and linens; distribute hygiene supplies to residents.
- Sew and repair drapes clothing and bedspreads; reupholster as needed.
- Perform various cleaning tasks such as sweeping vacuuming mopping scrubbing waxing and polishing floors; dust and wash walls clean ceilings and polish light fixtures; gather and dispose of waste.
- Clean and disinfect all fixtures floors mirrors windows doors and walls of bathrooms.
- Make supply packs for departments deliver linens and distribute emergency supplies.
- Keep records of linen distribution and check linen supplies.
