GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:
Kirkwood Community Colleges Industrial Technologies Department is seeking a part-time instructor for CAD-108 CAD for Electrical Design (2 credits). The position requires experience creating and editing drawings using CAD software. Successful candidates will be self-motivated goal-oriented and able to communicate complex concepts clearly to students.
The schedule for this course is as follows:
- Section B: M/T/W/TH 2:05-3:00 PM January 12th March 6th
- Section C: T/TH 3:00-4:30 PM January 13th May 4th
Adjunct faculty positions are temporary part-time positions scheduled intermittently based on institutional need. Adjuncts are not guaranteed work in any semester and are notified of course assignments prior to each term as courses become available.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Effectively organize and teach curriculum in accordance with established syllabi.
- Deliver in-person instruction and engage students.
- Prepare syllabi evaluate student work and provide timely and constructive feedback.
- Maintain a safe lab environment.
- Refer students to appropriate college support services as needed.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:
- Represent the college in a positive and professional manner.
- Support a welcoming inclusive environment that values diverse backgrounds and experiences.
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of a diverse student population.
- Meet institutional expectations for class attendance grading and assessment.
- Respond promptly to student and administrative communications.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:
Position involves working in an office setting. Occasional (10-33%) standing pushing pulling and grasping. Frequent (34-66%) reaching and viewing a computer and other types of close visual work. Constant (67-100%) sitting walking repetitive motion talking and hearing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of three years of full-time (6000 hours) industry experience in in AutoCAD drafting and familiarity with electrical schematics.
- OR a bachelors degree in industrial technology mechanical or electrical engineering or related field with at least 12 credit hours related to the areas described above.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSLICENSES CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS:
- Experience with PLCs.
- Experience teaching at a college level or experience in industrial training.
- Experience working with English Language Learners.
