Job Summary
This is manual maintenance and construction work of some complexity and variety involving the performance of semi-skilled tasks and skilled tasks in the maintenance and construction of municipal utilities and related infrastructure including repair servicing and construction. Under the general direction of a superior the position executes assigned utilities projects and other related work and supervises tradespersons and other junior positions within the crew as required. Some independent judgement and action are exercised within established standards and guidelines while more complex work is referred to and discussed with a superior. Work is reviewed by a superior for workmanship and adherence to desired work standards and achievement of objectives.
The Training Manual Requirements pre-qualifications for this position are:
- Obtain a minimum of 70% on a written exam based on WSBC Regulations Sub-division Bylaw Book and Water Distribution Operations and Maintenance.
- Obtain minimum 70% on a written exam based on WSBC Regulations Sub-division Bylaw Book and Operation and Maintenance of Wastewater Collection System.
- Courses that meet the EOCP class specification requirements.
The Class Specification the following licenses certificates and/or registrations and are job requirements:
- Drivers Licence for the Province of British Columbia Class 5
- EOCP Water Distribution Level II or equivalent
- EOCP Wasteter Water Collection Level II or equivalent
