Job Description
The Community Wellness Leader will be responsible for facilitating mobile recreation programming to the youth in underserved communities (mobile homes apartments libraries parks etc.). The incumbent will be developing program lessons and materials related to wellness and after-school programs. Additionally the role will be assisting and leading community outreach events which may include setting up various activities for participants to play.
Essential Duties
- Facilitating educational programs with youth adults and seniors (10 to 25 participants)
- Providing a safe learning environment for participants
- Managing multiple projects and organizing priorities
- Distributing promotional materials such as flyers and banners
- Organizing program vehicles and storage units
- Developing and maintaining community sites and partnerships through community outreach
Public Speaking Duties
- Leading educational programs in front of 10 to 25 youth
- Attending outreach events to promote upcoming programs
- Educating the public about the mission of Live Healthy Gwinnett
Other Job Requirements/Information
- This job requires fingerprinting.
- This job requires a 50-pound lift test
- This job requires flexible schedule (available to work weekends and evenings for programs/events)
Hourly rate
- Salary will be dependent on education and experience.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One year ofclassroom/childcare supervisory experience
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above will also be considered.
- Drivers license
Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications
- Associate degree in public health education physical education exercise science child education
