The Office of Risk Management (ORM) supports the implementation of programs policies and practices to manage RSM US (or Firm) risk. Individuals in the Independence Senior Associate 1 role will assist with managing risk by supporting multiple teams within RSMs Office of Risk Management including Conflicts Independence Operations Private Equity Independence and Personal Independence. The Independence Senior Associate 1 will support these various functions as seasonal volumes fluctuate and will gain visibility into the key operational activities of the Risk Management function. Responsibilities will include researching internal databases identifying situations where conflicts of interest issues may exist summarizing research findings and delivering summary reports to engagement teams processing updates to the entity management system supporting independence search procedures and other responsibilities as required. The Independence Senior Associate 1 will also provide procedural support to engagement teams navigating the Firms independence and conflict check requirements.

Essential Duties

  • Process and review conflict of interest searches analyze and interpret complex results per professional standards and generate conflict reports using internal databases.
  • Maintain the relationships and data in RSM InTrust the Firms independence system of record
  • Educate and provide guidance to stakeholders regarding Office of Risk Management policies and procedures
  • Monitor workload and ensuring assignments are timely actioned
  • Perform other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Graduation Required
  • MBA Preferred

TECHNICAL/SOFT SKILLS

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word Excel and Outlook Required
  • Organizational and time-management skills Required
  • Communicating information clearly and concisely in writing to diverse audiences across the Firm and to outside professional contacts Required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail Required

EXPERIENCE

  • Previous conflicts analyst experience Required
  • Experience with an accounting Firms entity management Required
  • Experience in a support or customer service role or function Required
  • Experience with the independence rules in the United States including the PCAOB SEC AICPA Preferred
  • with private equity and public issuer corporate structures Preferred

LEADERSHIP SKILLS

  • Must be able to work in a team environment as well as collaboratively across multiple teams Required
  • Strong organizational and time management skills Required
  • Able to adapt quickly to changes in process Required
  • Ability to supervise mentor and coach other employees Preferred
