Fahrenheit Advisors is assisting Gillies Creek an industrial recycling company in the search for a Lead Accountant. This role will work closely with the General Manager and bridge the gap between multiple businesses by handling day-to-day accounting responsibilities for this growing entity. Our ideal candidate enjoys working in a team environment is flexible and adaptable to change and able to handle lots of moving parts.
Responsibilities:
- Handle day-to-day accounting: GL AP/AR review accruals prepaids fixed assets and inventory adjustments.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations (multiple accounts) and prepare/post journal entries including sweep entries.
- Prepare monthly reports and KPI summaries for leadership clearly explaining variances and the key factors behind them.
- Month-end close with CPA: schedules reconciliations supporting workpapers and clean timely financials.
- Run end-to-end payroll process; manage data imports/exports from field/time systems; troubleshoot mapping and errors; ensure accuracy of taxes deductions and job/department allocations.
- Accounts Receivable oversight with the Office Manager & General Manager including aging review credit memos unapplied cash and follow-ups.
- Train and develop the Office Manager; cross-train staff; create and maintain simple SOPs/checklists.
- Review and improve current costing structure (materials flow yields overhead and COGS); improve inventory and production-to-sales reconciliations.
- Ensure ERP data integrity supporting vendor W-9/1099 processes implementing basic internal controls and maintaining audit readiness.
- Multi-entity accounting for 10 LLCs with low transaction volume: bank reconciliations simple journal entries intercompany and monthly file maintenance.
- Provide support to Greenwing an affiliated environmental mitigation company
- Assist the Greenwing manager with wetland credit accounting needs.
Requirements:
- BS in accounting finance or related field
- 5-7 years of full cycle accounting experience with increasing responsibilities
- Manufacturing accounting experience preferred
- Experience working with and presenting data in clear easy-to-understand formats
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work successfully in a fast-paced team environment
