Job Description:

HITACHIRAILislookingforanenthusiasticself-motivated IT Operations Engineer whothrivesinafast-paced environment. The successful candidate

is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. This position is based in PittsburghPA.

Accountabilities:

• Designimplementandmanagetheorganizationscomputersystemsandnetworks

• MonitorandmaintainITinfrastructureincludingserversnetworksandcloudenvironments

• Ensuresystemavailabilityperformanceandscalabilitythroughproactivemonitoringandtuning

• Ensuresecureenvironmentbyproactivelyplanningandpatching/upgradingservicesserversnetworkdevices

• Automateoperationalprocessesusingscriptingandconfigurationmanagementtools

• Implementandenforcesecuritypoliciesandprocedures

• Managebackupsdisasterrecoveryplansandbusinesscontinuitystrategies

• CollaboratewithServiceDeskApplicationandCyberSecurityTeams

• Maintaindocumentationforsystemsprocessesandprocedures

• TroubleshootLevel3andresolvesystemandnetworkissuesinatimelymanner

• Participateinon-callrotationandincidentresponse

Requiredskills:

• Troubleshootnetworkconnectivityproblemsandissues

• Documentnetworkconfigurationsandchanges

• Performnetworkupgradesandmaintenance

• Strongunderstandingofnetworkingconceptsandprotocols(TCP/IPDNSWAN/LANVLANSSDWANMPLSBGPSSLandIPsecVPNCoreSwitchingandRoutingetc.)

• ExperiencewithvirtualizationtechnologieslikeVMWare(mandatory)Hyper-VNutanixKVMproxmox

• StrongknowledgeinSANNASandrelatedenvironment()

• MonitoringandoptimizingtheperformanceofvirtualizedresourcesincludingCPUmemoryandstorage.

• Deployingandmanagingvirtualmachines(VMs)andvirtualdesktopsacrossthevirtualizedenvironment.

• ManageStorage

• Ensuredataintegritysecurityandaccessibilityacrossvariousstorageplatforms

Backup

• Monitorbackupjobsdailytoverifysuccessfulcompletionandtroubleshootanyfailuresoranomalies.
