Purpose
The Operations Director is responsible for overseeing the ongoing operations and procedures as well as the efficiency of the business. The Operations Director works with the Site Leader to ensure that all processes are defined and adhered to. The adherence to and efficiency of those processes need to be actively measured by Key Performance Indicators (KPI) which need to be regularly fine-tuned.
Job Responsibilities
Responsible for advising the Site Management Team on Site operation capabilities to enable the effective function of the organization.
Supports and Advises Site Management Team on operational issues as well as timelines to solve ongoing issues.
Work with Site Leader to develop both short- and long-term business strategies.
Ensure that the core values and leadership standards are communicated and understood at all levels of the site.
Build trust among team members by setting a highly visible standard for colleagues in terms of professional excellence and commitment to core values.
Create and maintain a team culture that values recognizes and generates high performance supports innovation and challenges the status quo.
Ensure the integration of new initiatives into business operations while minimizing the risk of potential negative impact on existing operations develop financial forecasts for the site on a monthly and quarterly basis
Work with Site Leader to develop a budget for the site including annual capital plans and operating expenses
Actively manage costs to ensure achievement of financial forecasts and business plans
Develop and encourage a matrix management system throughout the entire site
Drives and communicates the company vision and core values to ensure that culture is part of everyday business practices
Identify functional and operational best practices and leverage them to capitalize on all potential efficiency opportunities
Ensure alignment and support of all operations and staff members are measured by plant performance
Work in a safe and healthy manner adhering to all safety rules and practices.
Represent the companys core values of being committed action oriented and sustainable.
Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelors Degree (preferably engineering or technical)
Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations
Well-developed leadership skills and emotional intelligence
Excellent Strategic and Critical Thinking Skills
Highly developed influencing persuading and communication skills
Ability to communicate key messages to all levels of the organization on complex issues
Ability to innovate recognize challenges analyze problems and apply effective solutions
Ability to demonstrate honesty and professional integrity
Ability to manage a highly complex portfolio and deliver a wide range of objectives within a timetable
Must have high energy level and persistence to drive for continuous improvement
Ability to think strategically without losing touch with day-to-day operations
Travel up to 25% including international
