Job Summary
A leading Independent School in Ipswich is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Music Teacher to join their Performing Arts faculty immediately or from January. This is an exceptional opportunity for a committed practitioner who values the power of music ensemble work and performance culture within a high-achieving school environment.
About the Role
You will teach Music across KS3 and KS4 with opportunities to support A-Level Music depending on your experience. The school has a thriving extra-curricular programme and the successful candidate will be encouraged to lead or support ensembles choirs instrumental groups or musical theatre productions.
The department includes:
A specialist music suite
Multiple rehearsal rooms
A digital composition and recording studio
Dedicated spaces for practice ensemble rehearsal and performance
Concerts recitals and seasonal productions are regular highlights of the school year contributing to a strong cultural identity rooted in participation and artistic excellence.
You will help develop student musicianship through:
Composition
Performance
Music theory and listening skills
Ensemble rehearsal and collaborative musicianship
Students are enthusiastic talented and receptive many take peripatetic lessons and participate in the schools wide range of ensembles.

Person Specification
QTS or independent-sector equivalent
Strong musical skills (specialism flexible vocal instrumental composition etc.)
Ability to inspire and motivate students through engaging ambitious teaching
Confidence in leading or supporting ensembles
Warm professional presence and strong communication skills
