Job Summary
Job Summary (List Format):
- Position: RN (Registered Nurse) Ortho/Trauma Unit
- Shift: 3x12 hour shifts Nights (7p-7a) every other weekend (EOW)
- Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday and one evening during holiday period
- Call: No on-call required
- Experience: Minimum 2 years RN experience required
- No first-time travelers accepted
- Certifications:
- BLS required
- ACLS preferred
- Must pass EKG exam (mandatory for all RNs at Cone Health)
- Special Skills:
- Experience with Rapid Response Teams
- Orthopedic and trauma experience required
- Pre-op and post-op ortho care
- Experience with both elective and trauma ortho patients
- Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients (possible stretch to 7)
- EMR: Must have EPIC experience
- Clinical Focus:
- Care for patients with total hip knee and shoulder replacements/repairs
- Ortho trauma cases
- Use of safe patient handling and ortho equipment (e.g. CPM knee immobilizer bone foam)
- Other Requirements:
- Flexibility with scheduling; zero tolerance for tardiness/unexcused absences
- Must complete compliance by deadline (12 Noon EST Wednesday prior to start)
- No barriers to compliance (e.g. upcoming vacations)
- Mandatory Questionnaire:
- Confirmation of candidate awareness/submission
- Scheduling flexibility and policy adherence
- Compliance deadline awareness
- EKG exam awareness
