Position Overview
The Material Planning Executive is responsible for overseeing and managing the inventory and timely availability of all the materials as per the customer demand. This role involves ensuring the timely procurement of materials optimizing the inventory levels coordinating with Procurement team Planning team Sales team Suppliers warehouse and other stakeholders to ensure the timely procurement of materials.
The Material Planning Executive should analyze demand forecasts and manage inventory levels at warehouse
Key Roles & Responsibilities
planning & scheduling
Develop and implement material planning strategies based on customer demand schedules and sales forecasts.
Ensure optimum material stock level in warehouse to meet the customer demand
Coordinate with procurement team and ensure timely availability of materials(OTIF) at warehouse
2. Inventory Management
Monitor and manage inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstock situations.
Implement inventory control procedures to maintain optimal stock levels.
Conduct periodic ABC / XYZ analysis and inventory audits with warehouse and adjust the stock levels
Ensure targeted inventory turns and DOH
3. Demand Forecasting
Analyze historical data and market trends to forecast material demand accurately
Collaborate with Planning sales & customer teams to understand demand fluctuations and adjust plans accordingly.
Adjust the inventory levels in line with the actual demand and maintain the optimum level
Functional collaboration
Work closely with all the stake holders Planning Procurement Technical Quality and Warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations.
Ensure timely communication of material availability issues and develop alternate solutions to ensure OTIF
Reporting
Generate regular reports on material availability inventory levels and procurement performance
Analyze data to identify trends issues and opportunities for improvement.
Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall system efficiency and effectiveness.
& Analysis:
Develop and maintain procurement performance metrics and KPIs.
Prepare and present regular reports.
Utilize data and analytics to drive decision-making and strategic planning.
Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelors degree in in Mechanical / Production/ Industrial Engineering Supply Chain Management Business Administration or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 4 to 8 years of hands on proven experience in Material planning Scheduling and forecasting.
Proven track record of managing inventory and procurement processes effectively
Candidate preferably from Manufacturing Automotive Consumer durable industry with knowledge in Procurement and Sourcing areas.
Skills & Personal attributes
Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines
Proficient in procurement ERP software and systems.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
