Job Title: SolarWinds Engineer Transit Infrastructure Monitoring

Description:
We are seeking an expert-level SolarWinds Engineer to lead the monitoring strategy for mission-critical transportation infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who understands the unique demands of transit systems-particularly uptime safety and real-time performance visibility across rail bus and control center networks.
Key Responsibilities
Architect and manage SolarWinds environments (NPM NTA SAM NCM etc.) across transit systems.
Develop advanced dashboards and alerts for SCADA signaling and communications systems.
Integrate SolarWinds with ITSM platforms (e.g. ServiceNow) to support field teams and control centers.
Lead root cause analysis and performance tuning for transit infrastructure.
Ensure compliance with NERC-CIP DOT and local transportation authority standards.
Collaborate with engineering cybersecurity and operations teams to align monitoring with safety and reliability goals.
Required Qualifications
7 years of hands-on SolarWinds experience in large-scale real-time environments.
Deep understanding of SNMP NetFlow WMI and industrial protocols used in transportation.
Strong scripting skills (PowerShell Python) for automation and integration.
Experience supporting field operations and remote asset monitoring.
Familiarity with transit systems control rooms and transportation procurement processes.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with cloud-based monitoring (Azure/AWS).
SCADA integration and NOC operations experience.
Desired but not always required: SolarWinds certifications or equivalents like CCNA/CCNP.
