Job Role: Java Developer III
Location: Washington DC (DCW26 1325 G St NW Suite 300)
Duration: 3 Months Contract
Job Description / Responsibilities:
- Design develop test and maintain Java-based applications and back-end services to support Comcast platforms.
- Work within a team to deliver high quality scalable maintainable code; collaborate with peers QA product and infrastructure teams.
- Utilize Java Spring/Spring Boot (or similar frameworks) RESTful APIs / web services and relational/NoSQL databases.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC) including requirements analysis design implementation testing deployment and maintenance.
- Debug profile and tune applications for performance reliability and scalability.
- Integrate with CI/CD pipelines version control (e.g. Git) code review processes and agile delivery practices.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and technical leadership to understand functional requirements provide estimates and deliver solutions aligned with business goals.
- Maintain documentation of technical designs decision-making and support/maintenance plans.
- Ensure alignment with corporate standards best practices security guidelines and compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience (typically 5 years) in Java/J2EE development including frameworks like Spring Boot Hibernate/JPA and web services (REST/SOAP).
- Experience with relational databases (e.g. Oracle PostgreSQL MySQL) and/or NoSQL (e.g. MongoDB Couchbase).
- Solid understanding of software architecture object-oriented design design patterns and system integration.
- Experience working in agile/Scrum teams participating in or leading sprints backlog grooming stand-ups and retrospectives.
- Strong debugging problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
