Our Data Center Engineering Operations team maintain and operate our critical infrastructure systems so that they are prepared to stand up against any situation.

Our Engineering Operations Technicians (EOTs) help keep them that way by working with the brightest minds from around the globe to help test and implement the newest technology and work practices to meet the demands of a changing market.

EOTs are Amazons front line responders for hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation. This equipment includes but is not limited to stand-by diesel generators switchgear UPSs PDUs AHUs chillers cooling towers chemical treatment systems pumps motors VFDs and building automation systems.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design planning delivery and operation of all AWS global other words were the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers storage networking power and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and were looking for talented people who want to help.

Key job responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment in a data center.

- Operate independently with limited direct management.

- Act as an escalation point for all facilities-related issues within the data center escalating to the Chief Engineer and Data Center Regional Manager as needed.

- Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures.

- Troubleshoot and report of facility and data sever-level events within internal SLA.

- Create and deploy new standard practices for Engineering Operation Technicians and vendor support teams.

- Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to by vendors and Amazon staff.

- Utilize internal CMMS to manage building workflows.

- Communicate complex technical information to a non-technical audience.

- Fully comply with all physical security procedures and policies.

- Respond to off hour emergency calls related to his data centers and help with the investigation mitigation and recovery of the issue(s).

- Candidates should be able to lift up to 40 lbs and or work in elevated locations.

- Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to provide after-hours support as needed. All physical requirements are expected with reasonable accommodations

- High School diploma or equivalent
- - Technical (Military/Trade School) training or 2 years of electrical and/or mechanical HVAC fire system experience in a mission-critical infrastructure or equivalent experience in a relevant industry (for example: electrical or mechanical)
- - 2 years experience with Microsoft Office products (including Excel Word and PowerPoint)

- 4 years of data center engineering or operations experience
- Associates degree or above or Bachelors degree

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $68300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $152700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
