Job Overview

The Communications Coordinator is a critical member of our Employee Communications team responsible for the publishing and distribution of content and flawless execution of communications across internal channels. This role maintains a national editorial & publishing calendar builds and publishes content on our company intranet (in SharePoint) designs custom emails & newsletters through a communication tool (Contact Monkey) and builds creative and engaging graphics aligned with our brand guidelines.
In addition to exceptional time management attention to detail and organizational skills the successful candidate to fill this role will be team-centric adaptable creative confident working independently and highly responsive working with our fast-paced team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Publish internal news stories on SharePoint and build and distribute newsletters through Contact Monkey in both English and French for leaders and employees across the country.
  • Create update and maintain a national editorial & publishing calendar staying on top of changing timelines with communication team members.
  • Following brand guidelines build digital graphics and apply creativity with content and materials that support employee programs campaigns activities and news stories.
  • Monitor and maintain the Communications mailbox daily triage requests in a timely manner.
  • Support the planning and/or communications for internal campaigns activities and events (e.g. Quarterly Employee Connects Town Halls) including building surveys and registration forms and exporting data.
  • Stay current with best practices to enhance internal communication tactics and channels
  • Use metrics data and insights to understand how communication channels are performing and opportunities to improve.
  • Develop write and edit communication materials for multiple channels and audiences including but not limited to internal news stories presentations Q&A documents video scripts online content and other communications as required.
  • Build / review / update processes to help drive continuous improvement within our communications team.
  • Edit and proofread communications to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Build collaborative relationships with business partners and departments across the organization to support communication needs.
  • Have a positive and service-oriented mindset to support team members and partners across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in Communications Marketing or Public Relations.
  • Minimum of two years of experience working with a communications team.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail ensuring accuracy.
  • Strong service orientation with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work under tight deadlines.
  • Strong written communication and editing skills; with the ability to draft timely and accurate communications.
  • Confident and proficient communications skills with excellent command of the English language both written and spoken.
  • Proficiency in technology that enables communications (e.g. SharePoint Content Management Systems Word Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Strong aptitude for design with experience using Adobe Photoshop / Adobe Express.
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and to thrive as part of a team.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) would be a strong asset.
  • Trusted handling of sensitive information ensuring confidentiality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to build relationships.
