Description
The House Assistant will serve as a positive role model for program participants. The House
Assistant will be responsible for modeling those behaviors necessary for residents to emulate for
them to move on to a higher level of functioning success and self-sufficiency. The House
Manger will assist in ensuring that the group home is managed so that it meets COA standards of
best practice NARR Code of Standards State Fire Marshal codes and meets it financial goals.
Live in position includes rent utilities house hold & cleaning supplies
$15000 plus rent
Essential Functions:
1. Coordinate with incoming residents and their families provide a resident orientation of the home and rules and help the resident get settled in. As well oversee any discharges/departures.
2. Monitor Residents recovery plans to ensure they follow through with their job placement responsibilities comply with the agreed upon recovery goals and maintain a substance free lifestyle as each resident successfully reintegrates into the community.
3. Monitor physical facility and equipment according to LSC Policy and Procedures NARR standards and State Fire Marshal codes. Report maintenance issues to the supervisor immediately and complete monthly facility and vehicle inspections.
4. Transport residents to and from work and or appointments when available. Must have a clean driving record.
5. Conduct and document weekly drug testing for residents. As well provide an additional layer of accountability to ensure resident safety and program integrity.
6. Assist in maintaining updated client files and ensure listing of client resources are updated regularly.
7. Have knowledge of community support systems such as the local employment office vocational rehabilitation and recovery meetings.
8. Represent the program professionally in the community. Ensure that behavior is always professional.
9. Engage the residents as participants in community service projects as well as encourage residents to participate in community activities of interest.
10. Assist with providing volunteer orientation and coordinate volunteers services as needed for the program.
11. Perform other duties and special projects as requested.
Qualifications
Education: High School diploma or GED
Experience: Sustained recovery (sobriety) from alcohol and illicit substances for a period of 2 years.
Specific skills/abilities: Flexibility sensitive to varying cultural issues licensed driver in the State of residence. Familiarity with community resources.
Specialized knowledge licenses etc.: Must have valid SC drivers license.
