The Role

As a senior leader within the Digital & Technology Division the Head of Applications acts as a strategic advisor and change leader fostering strong partnerships with key stakeholders across the business. The role has end-to-end accountability for the strategy planning operations and lifecycle management of all business-critical applications across the organisation. It ensures that platforms are secure scalable and aligned. The role leads a team of specialist product leads technical experts and vendors responsible for the delivery support optimisation and continual improvement of applications across the organisation.

What you bring to the role

• Deep experience in Applications support and understanding of the business processes that they enable

• Proven experience in managing an IT Applications Services or similar team including in a SaaS/Web based systems environment

• Experience in the management of package based application service providers

• Experience in managing and enhancing applications in a cloud hosted platform

• Leadership and stakeholder management skills

• Experience in identifying and managing risks associated with the execution of complex IT enabled projects and programs

• Strong analytical skills combined with highly developed communication skills

• Familiarity with contemporary tools used to support the delivery of IT enabled Projects Programs and Portfolios.

• Strong knowledge of the business processes of hospital environments including workflow business drivers and requirements.

• Project and Program Management and Applications Delivery experience

• Health industry experience essential to this role

Preferred

• Experienced with CI/CD methodologies and project management approaches for the enhancement of applications in a cloud hosted environment and the management of multi-disciplinary teams

• Experience in cloud based application architectures and the integration of cloud hosted applications.
