Job Summary

The Cafe Shift Leads role is an integral part of the efficient enthusiastic team that makes Grand Central Bakerys vibrant cafes such wonderful spaces. The Cafe Shift Lead is passionate about serving delicious food and drink to a community of loyal customers. They are expected to regularly and efficiently work any shift as needed including working on the sandwich bar during a rush and frequently serves as Person in Charge (PIC).
Location:4440 NE Fremont Portland OR 97213
Rate of Pay: $17.65 per hour plus tips.
- Estimated tip average is $7.00 - $9.00 per hour.
Schedule: Full-time 25 or more hours per week. Must be available to work Wednesday - Sunday (including weekends). Scheduling flexibility is required and ability to work holidays is required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 18 years of age or older
- Ability to read write and speak English required
- Basic math skills required
- Maintains food handlers card new hires are expected to have a valid card by their first date of work
- Experience with point-of-sale systems preferred
- 1 year(s) experience in food service preferred
- Must display professionalism and personality with customers
Physical requirements include but are not limited to:
- Standing for 100% of the shift.
- Working in a loud environment with frequent interruptions.
- Lifting and carrying items up to 20 lbs.
- Working in a building containing a bakery and is constantly exposed to wheat flour dust and other grain dusts (rye corn oat).
