The Role

As an experienced Shotfirer youll play a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our blasting operations by ensuring our blasts are fired safely on schedule and without issue. Youll report to the Shift Supervisor / Site Manager and provide support to the wider crew.

What Youll Do

• Manage the loading tying and firing of blasts by following blast patterns
• Handle explosives and prepare for blasts ensuring all safety and legislative requirements are upheld
• Pre and post inspection of blasts and maintenance of records
• Working collaboratively with the crew to achieve daily targets

What Youll Need

Must-haves:

• Right to work in Australia
• Current Shotfirer licence S1 2 3 and G2
• Open drivers licence with no restrictions
• Standard 11 or willingness to obtain
• QLD Explosives Security Clearance Card (or ability to obtain)
• Able to pass pre-employment checks including medical drug and alcohol and background checks.
• Previous experience as a shotfirer

Good to have:

• Experience in quarrying or hard rock shotfiring in an open cut mining environment.
• TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
• Relevant RIIs for Shotfiring e.g. RIIBLA301E Conduct Surface Shotfiring Operations
• Heavy Rigid (or greater) drivers licence
