Position Overview
This role combines traditional accounting responsibilities with strong data analysis and reporting functions. The ideal candidate will help strengthen financial operations improve reporting accuracy and turn ERP data into actionable insights that guide business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Operations
- Prepare and post journal entries accruals and adjustments.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
- Maintain accurate fixed asset and depreciation records.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and variance analysis.
- Support cost accounting and inventory control processes.
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Extract and analyze financial and operational data directly from the ERP system using ODBC or similar tools.
- Develop and maintain Excel-based reports by connecting and merging ERP tables (sales cost production inventory etc.).
- Identify trends variances and improvement opportunities through data-driven analysis.
- Build dashboards and summary reports that communicate insights clearly to management.
- Collaborate with Finance and Operations to automate recurring data pulls and improve reporting workflows.
- Ensure data consistency and integrity across systems and financial statements.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in accounting Finance or Data Analytics (required).
- 25 years of accounting experience ideally in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Experience using ODBC data connections and Excels Power Query or Data Connection tools.
- Familiarity with relational database structures and basic SQL concepts (preferred).
- Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables XLOOKUP Power Pivot and data modeling.
- ERP experience (Microsoft Dynamics Epicor or similar systems) strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical skills attention to detail and ability to communicate insights effectively across teams.
